The original contract price of benzene for January in Europe fell by EUR55 per tonne
MOSCOW – The initial contract price of benzene in Europe for January supplies was agreed at the level of EUR792 per tonne, which is EUR55 per tonne lower than the December price, ICIS informed one buyer and three sellers.
The January contract price of benzene was agreed in dollar terms at the level of USD945 per tonne, and then converted into a price in euros at an agreed exchange rate of EUR1 = USD1.1934.
Further confirmation of the contract price of the material from the buyers is expected.
Earlier it was noted that the December contract price of benzene in the European market was finally agreed at the level of EUR847 per ton, which is EUR145 per ton higher than the November price.
And the November contract price of benzene in Europe was approved at the level of EUR702 per ton, which is EUR31 per ton higher than the level of the previous month.
Benzene is the main raw material for styrene, which, in turn, produces polystyrene (PS).
