The companies signed a memorandum of understanding for a five-year collaboration. They will develop products and services for connected and autonomous vehicles, with an initial focus on cognitive technologies and health-and-wellness services. The companies will leverage digital technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), augmented and virtual reality, advanced analytics, and quantum computing to further accelerate Faurecia’s digital transformation.

Faurecia is the sixth-largest international automotive parts manufacturer in the world. It designs and manufactures seats, exhaust systems, interior systems (dashboards, center consoles, door panels, acoustic modules) and decorative aspects of a vehicle (aluminium, wood). Its customers include the Volkswagen group, PSA Peugeot Citroën, Renault-Nissan, Ford, General Motors, BMW, Daimler, Fiat/Chrysler, Toyota and Hyundai-Kia, among others. Headquartered in Nanterre, France, Faurecia employs 5,500 engineers and technicians. The company operates over 320 production sites and 30 research and development (R&D) centers in 34 countries worldwide.

Accenture is a global management consulting and professional services company that provides strategy, consulting, digital, technology and operations services.  In 2017, the company reported net revenues of $34.9 billion, with more than 425,000 employees serving clients in more than 200 cities in 120 countries.

“We will accelerate the transformation of our operations and develop new business models and user experiences for the Cockpit of the Future,” said Patrick Koller, Chief Executive Officer of Faurecia. “This partnership will allow Faurecia to be more innovative and agile in the rapid introduction of new technologies, particularly for enhanced health and wellness and intuitive human-machine interfaces.”

“Innovation creates a virtuous circle ― enabling companies to secure current growth, while freeing up the capital needed to invest in new products, services and business models to sustain future growth,” said Pierre Nanterme, Accenture’s chairman and CEO. “This is exactly what we are doing through this pioneering partnership with Faurecia. By combining Accenture’s ability to turn disruptive technologies into business results with Faurecia’s expertise in leading-edge automotive technologies and our two companies’ common focus on innovation, we intend to invent the future of the automotive industry.”
