Delos Aquafil partner Econyl nylonCALHOUN, Ga. — Area rug manufacturer and importer Delos has joined forces with Nylon 6 manufacturer Aquafil to add two new fibers to its assortment.

The partnership calls for Delos to add the “Econyl StayClean” nylon — a 100% recycled fiber containing at leat 50% postconsumer waste such as fishing nets, spent carpets and other nylon waste — to its product set.

One of Delos’ first collections to feature “Econyl StayClean” is a private label pattern named Piran for retailer Room & Board. It rolls out this year.Delos also plans to court designers with custom order options for rugs and carpets made of the fiber, touting its versatility, durability and sustainability features.

Delos will offer 143 standard colors in Econyl yarn and will dye-to-match on an as-needed basis. The pom color offering will be available in Delos’ new architectural pom folders, which are now available for pre-order and will be shipped in March.

“We are excited about this new partnership and the ability to tuft beautiful carpets in an array of saturated colors that are lightfast, colorfast, UV-resistant and soft and luxurious under foot,” said Leah Phillips, co-owner, Delos. “We are thrilled to be able to offer designers maximum creative flexibility all while serving our planet. It is truly the best of both worlds.”
