Faurecia announces tie up with IISc
Faurecia, one of the world’s largest automotive equipment suppliers, on Wednesday announced the signing of a research partnership with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc).
This collaboration wille nrich Faurecia’s ecosystem of high-level scientific and academic collaborations in its two strategic areas ‘Smart Life on Board’ and ‘Sustainable Mobility.’
Faurecia and the Indian Institute of Science will conduct collaborative research to develop new technologies and solutionsin three areas: online air quality monitoring, data analysis and algorithms for driver behavior and artificial intelligence for industrial design.
Faurecia CEO Patrick Koller said open innovation is key to the rapid development of new technologies for new mobility requirements. “We are proud to add IISc to our academic partnerships and be able to share and confront our ideas with its experts,” he said.
IISC Director Professor Anurag Kumar said Faurecia and IISc will work together on automotive solutionsbased on Artifical Intelligence in this innovative industry-academia research collaboration. “Together we will engage in new research areas that will have a significant impact on future mobility,” said Kumar.
Established in 1997 in India, Faurecia now employs 3500 people including 1200 engineers within seven sites and two research and development centers, serving the passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle markets.
