The German association for plastics packaging and films IK Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen and the French plastics and flexible packaging association Elipso have agreed to further develop their partnership.
The associations will bundle their forces especially in the fields of eco design, market development and the image of plastics packaging, with marine litter being an important issue that they will tackle together.
Dr Jürgen Bruder, managing director of IK, said: “We are aware of increasing challenges on a European level, first of all regarding environment and sustainability, which can only be met in very close cooperation.”
Emmanuel Guichard, managing director of Elipso, added: “We decided to go further in our cooperation and to work more closely with our German colleagues in order to share knowledge, experiences and to issue some common positions on various topics.”
The associations have been cooperating since 2011 in terms of information exchange and the coordination of joint positions for sustainable innovations in the plastics packaging industry is the flagship project between the two up to now.
