-Saudi Aramco says full oil production capacity will return by end of November
Saudi Arabia’s full oil production capacity will be recovered by the end of November, Saudi Aramco CEO Amin Nasser told CNBC on Wednesday.
“By September we will be, in terms of production capacity, at 11.3 (million barrels per day), by end of November we will be at 12 million barrels per day (bdp), which is our maximum sustained capacity,” Nasser told CNBC’s Steve Sedgwick during the Oil & Money Conference in London. Saudi Arabia is the world’s largest exporter of oil.
-Saudi Aramco chief: attacks may continue without international response
Attacks such as the one on Saudi oil facilities which last month sent oil prices up by as much 20% may continue if there is no concerted international response, Saudi Aramco’s Chief Executive Amin Nasser said on Wednesday. Carbon fibre Graphene Thermoplastics
“An absence of international resolve to take concrete action may embolden the attackers and indeed put the world’s energy security at greater risk,” he told the Oil & Money conference in London in rare political comments.
-EPCA ’19: Indonesia to start up new R-PET plant in Q1 ’20
Indonesia is expected to start up a new recycled polyethylene terephthalate (R-PET) recycling plant in the first quarter of 2020, an executive from French industrial conglomerate Veolia said on Tuesday.Carbon fibre Graphene Thermoplastics
The bottle-to-bottle R-PET plant has a 25,000 tonne/year capacity, said Veolia senior executive vice president Patrick Labat at the European Petrochemical Association (EPCA) annual conference.
This is the second project of the Alliance to End Plastic Waste (AEPW) in Indonesia.
AEPW, which is a group of global companies, including Veolia, was launched in January this year to promote the circular economy.
-Weak underlying demand to off-set tight supply in SE Asia PP market
Sluggish underlying demand may continue to weigh on sentiment in the southeast (SE) Asian polypropylene (PP) sector, although curtailed regional availability could provide some support to the spot market.Carbon fibre Graphene Thermoplastics
Typically, demand sees a slight up-swing in the month of October, as converters make resin procurements in preparation of an expected increase in downstream export demand of finished goods as the Christmas festive season approaches.
-HeiQ technologies bolster circular ambition
HeiQ provides sustainable dyeing and finishing solutions with its award-winning technology for Truecycled by Twinery. Swiss textile innovator HeiQ partners with Twinery to significantly reduce waste in their apparel production supply chain.
Apparel manufacturing is the second largest polluting industry in the world. While there are many solutions to this problem, Bodyline has taken the lead to focus on developing a low impact supply chain by reducing energy and waste across the entire value chain and develop No Waste Apparel – Truecycled. -How to make biocatalysts immortal
Oxygen threatens sustainable catalysts that use hydrogen to produce electricity in fuel cells. Researchers from Bochum and Marseille have developed a way to combat this.
Efficient catalysts for converting hydrogen into electricity in fuel cells for the energy transition are often based on expensive, rare metals such as platinum.
The use of cheaper metals and biological components that work just as efficiently has so far shortened the service life of catalysts as they are sensitive to oxygen. Carbon fibre Graphene Thermoplastics
A must attend trade fair for the plastics industry.
K Show 2019 hopes to build on the success of the previous show in 2016 which experienced top feedback from both visitors and exhibitors and saw 232,000 visitors from 160 countries and 3200 international exhibitors attend the event. Carbon fibre Graphene Thermoplastics
-Lenzing Invests €40M to Improve Ecological Footprint
Production plant in Lenzing will reduce annual CO2 emissions by 15,000 tons
The Lenzing Group is a global leader in the climate-friendly and sustainable production of wood-based textile fibers. The company announced its climate targets in August of this year.
By 2030, the company aims to reduce its specific CO2 emissions per ton of manufactured pulp and fibers by 50%. By the year 2050, the Lenzing Group will no longer generate any net CO2 emissions.
-UK MIGHT SEE A RISE IN DEMAND EXTRUDED PLA
The United Kingdom has been making changes to its economy just as the world is making its changes to create a sustainable and clean environment for us humans to live in and also to combat the Climate Emergency that we face. Carbon fibre Graphene Thermoplastics
The nation is set to see a rise in bioplastics over the next five years a market analysis suggested. Polylactic acid or polylactide (PLA) is a thermoplastic aliphatic polyester derived from renewable resources and is popular in green chemistry. In 2010, PLA had the second highest consumption volume of any bioplastic of the world, although it is still not a commodity polymer.
-Coca-Cola continues its sustainable packaging push in Europe
Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP) has announced that it’s switching the carriers on its multipacks from shrink wrap to paperboard to reduce packaging waste. CCEP estimates this change in its beverage packaging will remove about 4,000 metric tons of single-use plastic per year from its current supply chain. Carbon fibre Graphene Thermoplastics
Flexible packaging materials used for shrink wrap are typically challenging to recycle. In contrast, CCEP’s paperboard multipack carriers will be made from recyclable, sustainably sourced paperboard. The material will be certified via either the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).
