MOSCOW – Taiwanese Formosa Plastics Corp. (FPC), a major global manufacturer of petrochemical products, intends to increase December polypropylene (PP) prices in the US by 3 cents per pound (USD66 per ton), ICIS reports, citing a letter to the company to customers.Formosa Plastics December prices PP
Prices will be increased from December 1, or as terms of contracts allow.
Other producers also separately announced a price increase of 2-3 cents per pound (USD44-66 per ton) for deliveries in November and December.
The November contracts for injection molding PP homopolymer in the United States were agreed at 69-73 cents per pound (USD1,518–1,606 per ton), while contracts for block copolymers PP were at 70-74 cents per pound (USD1,540 – 1,628 per ton).
The largest manufacturers of US PP are Braskem, ExxonMobil, Formosa, INEOS, LyondellBasell, Phillips 66 and Total Petrochemicals.Formosa Plastics December prices PP
According to ICIS-MRC’s Price Review , some sellers this week attempted to raise PP-Homo prices again, but in some cases, buyers refused to accept further price increases.
