July contract prices of TPA in Europe rose by EUR8 per tonne
July contract prices for European refined terephthalic acid (TPA) rose by EUR8 per tonne amid rising paraxylene feedstock, ICIS reported.
The base price of the paraxylene contract in July was increased by EUR12.50 per tonne.
Thus, the July contract price of TPA increased by EUR8 per tonne and reached EUR476-510 per tonne, FD NWE (North-West Europe).
TPA is one of the main components for the production of polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
According to the ICIS-MRC Price Review , Russian factories did not revise their spot prices at the end of this month and ship material at RUB 68,000-72,000. per ton, CPT Moscow, VAT included. The influence of the Chinese market on the future cost of Russian material is insignificant and significant changes in contract prices are not expected in August.
