Koksan postponed PET Gaziantep

MOSCOW – The Turkish company Koksan Pet and Packaging, a local producer of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), has postponed plans to launch line 2 for the production of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) by the end of 2019 in the city of Gaziantep (Gaziantep, Turkey), ICIS reports with reference on the words of the source in the company.

According to the source, the uncertain economic situation caused the delay in the implementation of the second line project with a capacity of 260 thousand tons of PET per year.

Earlier it was reported that Koksan Pet and Packaging planned to launch this line with a capacity of 216 thousand tons per year first in late 2016, and then moved to the end of 2017.  The company explained the launch delay by adverse market conditions.

Currently, a PET plant with a capacity of 216 thousand tons of PET per year or 700 tons per day is operating at the site.

Koksan Pet and Packaging was founded in 1068.  The company currently manufactures PET bottles, PET preforms, PET sheets, PET stoppers and PET granules.
