The launch of a new production is the first phase of a large-scale investment project “Polyester Production Complex”.
New equipment with a capacity of 50 thousand tons per year will provide a new range of synthetic fiber, which is in demand in the markets of near and far abroad.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Igor Lyashenko, who participated in the opening ceremony, there are no products of such high quality, especially conjugate-type fiber, in the space of the Eurasian Economic Union. “Chinese experts also confirmed that such a modern technology for the production of polyester products does not yet exist even in China. The new production was put into operation 5 months earlier than the standard terms, which brought the company savings of about 6–7 million dollars, and the annual income from the products sold would be about USD9–10 million.
The first 120 tons of output have already been shipped to Russia. According to the director general of Mogilevkhimvolokno, Peter Rudnik, the main task of the enterprise is to reach the designed capacity as quickly as possible, which is supposed to be done in the first half of 2019.
Currently, the second stage of the investment project for the development of the enterprise is in the active discussion stage. It involves the construction of a technically linked continuous PET polycondensation unit, polyester fiber production lines, an additional polycondensation unit and technical yarn production.
According to ICIS-MRC’s Price Review , Mogilevkhimvolokno shipped in January to the CIS countries the SPET brand 8200 L, produced on the basis of DMT. This brand differs from traditional PET by a higher melting point on average by 10 ° C and some other characteristics.
