Crude Oil Prices Trend
Azerbaijan exported 80 thousand 553.38 tons of polymer products in the first four months of this year, the State Customs Committee (SCC) told Interfax-Azerbaijan Agency.
“In January – April 2020, the export of plastic and its products amounted to 80 thousand 553.38 tons to USD60 million 482.46 thousand, increasing by 18.9% compared to the same period last year in physical terms, and in cost – a decrease of 2.5%, “the State Customs Committee said.
At the same time, the share of these products in total exports during the reporting period amounted to 0.96%, in the structure of non-oil exports – 11.02%.
For China’s textile and apparel industry, exports have always been a very important demand market, and the scale of the foreign trade market, as well as changes in structure, have also received much attention.
The export data, because the units of each category are different, they are often calculated by the value, but because the unit price of each category is obviously different, it can not fully correspond to the relationship between the quantities; In addition, it also involves exchange rate issues, and the results obtained also vary greatly calculated under US dollars and RMB basis. However, in order to actually feed back to the demand, a quantitative assessment is still required. In order to simplify the calculation, the following is temporarily calculated according to the below relationship: 1 piece (set) of apparel is converted into 2 meters of fabric, and the weight of 1 meter of fabric is 150 grams. The actual results are still different, but the magnitude and trend can be viewed roughly.
After May Day holiday (May 1-5), downstream product sales improve somewhat, and according to the conversation with our clients and spot cotton sales, downstream mindset indeed improves. Then, how about the status quo of the industry? What are the major influencing factors on cotton prices?
- Industrial situation
Downstream product sales turn slightly better after May Day holiday, with slight improvement of domestic end-user demand, modest replenishment from traders and some small export orders. In view of spot cotton market, when ZCE cotton futures market only declined slightly on May 12-14, trading sentiment was obviously better than that in Apr. Most mills replenished feedstock after digestion during the holiday, and a few mills replenished half a month or one month more feedstock. In grey fabric market sector, some weaving plants with large orders intend to increase the cotton yarn inventory. Currently, the cotton yarn inventory in weaving plants remains low, and if grey fabric plants replenish more cotton yarn inventory, mills may intend to purchase more cotton later, then, the overall industrial chain will have a good cycle. The RX circular loom series is produced at the Starlinger plant in Taicang/China specifically for the Southeast Asian market. This series is now extended with the RX 8.1, a circular loom that is particularly suited to the production of lightweight fabrics for 1-loop FIBCs, tarpaulins as well as geo- and agrotextiles made of PP, HDPE, and PET. In combination with the RX 6.0, RX 6.1, and RX 8.2, Starlinger Taicang now offers the ideal circular loom for every fabric width. Petrochemicals Plastics Enzymes Events
The new Starlinger circular loom RX 8.1 produces fabric with a width of 1,200 – 1,700 mm, which is an ideal match for 1-loop FIBCs, tarpaulin fabrics as well as geo- and agrotextiles. The model completes the RX series, which now covers every working width between 300 and 2,250 mm.
The plastics recycling revolution is here. Technologies are being added that could lead to the almost total reuse of waste plastics in the U.S. in the next decade, a development that would radically change the types of plastics in use for most applications. These technologies include mechanical recycling, but also chemical recycling processes that break waste plastics down into their constituent monomers and molecules and reform them into virgin polymers. This is the vision that Jayme Leita, director of circular economy integration for Eastman Chemical, offered in his ANTEC® 2020 keynote address on April 13.
In a presentation titled “Revolutionary Materials Right Now,” Leita noted that Eastman has commercialized a chemical recycling process called carbon renewal technology (CRT), which it installed on an existing cellulosic and acetal production stream in Tennessee.
Arburg GmbH & Co. is injection moulding liquid silicone rubber (LSR) and polypropylene masks for its employees worldwide and medical facilities near its headquarters in Lossburg.
The company says it has the capacity to produce 3,500 multifunctional high-tech masks per day to address the critical shortage of personal protection equipment caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Petrochemicals Plastics Enzymes Events
Arburg officials describe the product as a soft LSR mask that is put over the nose and mouth and a firm PP shield with eyelets for attaching elastic bands. In the middle, there is a standardized connection with a hole. The opening is sealed with a flow gate, which will be fitted with a filter housing.
Operating rates to remain low amid ongoing coronavirus
Summer driving season could support toluene blending values
Global toluene supply and demand balances are expected to remain under pressure during the latter half of 2020 due to lower operating rates and reduced demand amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Petrochemicals Plastics Enzymes Events
Weaker pricing in benzene and derivative styrene markets, as well as soft paraxylene prices, dented chemical demand for toluene during much of the first half of the year. However, while weaker aromatics pricing is expected to persist in the second half, demand for higher-octane toluene in summer and lower product availability due to refinery run cuts may give some upside to the market.
PET recycler MultiPet GmbH, which, since 2017, has been part of environmental service provider Veolia, produces PET flakes from waste PET bottles and trays for the plastics processing industry.
The company’s recycled PET product is suitable for a variety of applications, ranging from fibres for nonwoven applications, beverage, detergent and other bottles, packaging and strapping sheets.
MultiPet and its sister company Multiport, a producer of recycled HDPE compounds, operate as one company with two complementary core business activities. Both are considered important suppliers of secondary raw materials for the plastics processing industry. Petrochemicals Plastics Enzymes Events
Increasingly, too, the industry is depending on high-quality recyclate from trusted suppliers in order to be able to comply with the targets for recycled content in packaging.
