Spain-based biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) and cast polypropylene (CPP) film manufacturer Poligal’s new Polish plant is now operational.
Located in Skarbimierz, the company has reportedly invested €40 million in its new BOPP film extrusion line, which includes a Brückner 5-layer, 8.7m wide extrusion line, with a production capacity of 40,000 tonnes/year. During 2018, the project will include a metallisation line.
The main objective of the plant is to improve service in Central Europe by offering quicker response times. Logistically, Poligal decided to base the facility in Poland as not only is it located in the heart of a growing flexible packaging market in Poland, but is also only two hours away from Germany.
The new line will likely enable Poligal to develop competitiveness in certain product segments, such as films for labels, and will assist in strengthening its capacity to develop new films for special applications.
Additionally, it will allow the possibility to offer Europe’s major converters and end users coverage throughout the entire continent and a full production backup with the existing plants in Spain and Portugal, and falls in line with Poligal’s strategic plans.
