SIDNEY, Ohio — Cargill has invested over $10 million to install a state-of-the-art edible oil bottling line at its Sidney, Ohio crush and refinery facility. The line is the most efficient bottling technology of its kind, delivering an annual 75 percent capacity increase over previous lines. It also allows Cargill and its customers to deliver against their sustainability commitments by reducing packaging material waste and using fully recyclable polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic.
-Schlumberger CEO warns transport constraints to slow shale gains
HOUSTON – The chief executive of the largest oilfield service provider, Schlumberger, warned on Tuesday that bottlenecks in the largest U.S. shale basin would slow oil production growth and investments in the region.
A surge in oil and gas production in the Permian basin of west Texas and New Mexico has outstripped transport capacity, pushing the local price of oil to four-year lows and threatening to curtail drilling activity. Any slowdown could hurt oilfield service companies that have only recently started to recover from the 2014 oil-price crash.

A Waikato water bottling plant is set to save 220 million plastic bottles every year from the dump.
NZ Drinks’ have installed a seven million dollar upgrade to their production line, enabling them to reuse one thousand tonnes of recycled plastic annually.
Company director Kyle Osbourne said NZ Drinks have used bottles made from recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) for the past two years.

-Brexit uncertainties boost DS Smith in Eastern Europe
Paper recycling and production giant DS Smith today highlighted the ‘sustainability’ of paper and UK uncertainties around Brexit as boosting performance within the business.
In a positive three monthly trading statement, group chief executive Miles Roberts singled out Eastern Europe as a “standout” region and said that the company’s big customers there continued to expand. And he added: “Some customers are moving production from the UK to Eastern Europe with all the uncertainties in the UK and we are benefiting from that.”

Garçon Wines, inventor of the 750ml slimline wine bottle, is launching a pink bottle made from 100% recycled PET which is made in the UK and is fully recyclable after. The brand new pink design and first rosé wine will be available in partnership with UK retailer Next.
Consumers have recently been faced with an ethical dilemma as a response to brands testing PET bottles made from recycled plastic. Highland Spring recently launched their first 100% recycled PET water bottle, their eco bottle, to the UK market and earlier this year the Co-op pledged to switch their water bottles to 50% recycled plastic but there has been a consumer perception issue around the cloudier, greyer appearance of the bottles.
