Polypropylene in Europe rose in price in January at EUR20-40 per ton for the CIS markets 

Polypropylene Europe January   MOSCOW  – The January contract price of propylene in Europe was agreed at EUR20 per tonne higher than the level of December.  Against this background, many European manufacturers announced an increase in the export prices of polypropylene (PP) for supplies to the markets of the CIS countries in December, in some cases it is a rise in prices at EUR40 per tonne, according to the Price Review of ICIS-MRC .

Negotiations on the January price level of the European PP began at the beginning of last week, many market participants state that initially some European producers announced an increase in export prices of PP at EUR40 per ton.  Some manufacturers agreed to limit the growth of prices of EUR20 per ton.

Transactions regarding January supplies of propylene homopolymer (PP homo) are in the range EUR1 030-1,140 per tonne, FCA, whereas the month before deals were concluded in the range EUR1 010-1100 per tonne, FCA.

Transactions on deliveries of propylene block copolymers (PP block) are coordinated in the EUR1 180-1 240 per tonne range, FCA, which is EUR 20-40 per ton higher than the level of December.  Negotiations on the January shipments of propylene (PP) random copolymers are conducted within EUR1 240-1 300 per tonne, FCA.
