PP prices in Southeast Asia are falling Polypropylene prices Southeast Asia
MOSCOW – Polypropylene (PP) prices in Southeast Asia have been falling for the sixth week in a row, despite an improvement in buying trends throughout the region, ICIS reports, citing market participants.
PP spot prices remain under pressure from broad supply in December, as suppliers seek to clean up existing warehouses until the end of the year.
December prices for duty-free PP for yarns were at USD 1140 per tonne, CFR southeast Asia, although some deals were made at a lower level.
Dutyable PP for filaments sold at around USD1080 per ton, CFR SE Asia.
According to ICIS-MRC’s Price Review , the December contract price of propylene in Europe was agreed at EUR100 per tonne lower than November.
Against this background, all European manufacturers announced a decrease in export prices of polypropylene (PP) for deliveries to the markets of the CIS countries in December. But price cuts are not proportional to monomer price cuts.
