Contract prices of TiO2 for the first quarter decreased in Asia
MOSCOW The contract prices of titanium dioxide (TiO2) for the first quarter of this year in Asia were concluded with a three-digit decrease compared to the previous quarter due to wide supply and weak demand, ICIS reports with reference to market participants.
The contract prices of TiO2 were under strong pressure this quarter due to the large gap between Chinese export prices and the prices of other international suppliers.

The main part of the contracts for the first quarter of 2019 was agreed at the level of USD2 650–2 800 per ton, CFR Asia.
Earlier it was reported that imports of TiO2 to the Chinese market increased in November 2018 to 18.19 thousand tons (an increase of 10% compared with the level of November 2017). Meanwhile, in relation to October 2018, the November import of material into the country showed an increase of 11%.
TiO2 is a white powdered pigment and is used to produce products such as paints, coatings, plastics, paper, inks, fibers, food and cosmetics.
