Fiber-Reinforced PA – Brüggemann Revolutionizes Manufacturing Efficiency with New Fluidizing Additives, Delivering Smoother, Faster, and Greener Molding of Fiber-Reinforced PA Components 21-10-2025

Brüggemann Enhances Fluidizing Additives for Easier Molding of Fiber-Reinforced PA

Brüggemann, a leading German specialty chemical manufacturer, has expanded its range of fluidizing additives and heat stabilizers designed specifically for fiber-reinforced PA (polyamide) applications in the fast-growing electrical, electronics, and e-mobility industries.

This innovation aims to make molding smoother, more energy-efficient, and sustainable—helping manufacturers produce lighter, more durable, and more complex plastic components under demanding thermal and mechanical stress conditions.

A Breakthrough in Fiber-Reinforced PA Processing

The new series of Bruggolen fluidizing agents and heat stabilizers addresses one of the biggest challenges in fiber-reinforced PA molding: maintaining flowability and heat resistance in high-glass-fiber compounds without sacrificing mechanical performance or flame retardancy.

These solutions are ideal for producing thin-walled parts, long flow channels, and intricate shapes—key features required in e-mobility and electrical applications such as connectors, housings, and overmolded sensors.

By optimizing both material rheology and thermal endurance, Brüggemann enables the design of lighter yet stronger plastic components that contribute to weight reduction, improved energy efficiency, and extended component lifetimes.

Three New Fluidizing Agents for Complex Geometries

Brüggemann introduced three new Bruggolen fluidizing additives tailored to enhance the processing of different types of fiber-reinforced PA formulations:

1. Bruggolen P1810 – For Semi-Aromatic Polyamides

This additive improves the flowability of semi-aromatic polyamides, enabling smooth mold filling even at high fiber loadings (up to 60% glass fiber). It allows the creation of thin-walled structures and long, narrow flow paths without compromising strength or dimensional stability.

2. Bruggolen P1507 – For Aliphatic Polyamides

Specially formulated for aliphatic polyamides, this additive helps injection-molded components achieve consistent quality and reduces the risk of short shots or incomplete mold filling. Manufacturers can use smaller injection molding presses and lower pressures, reducing energy consumption and production costs.

3. Bruggolen P2201 – Flowability with Flame Retardancy

This unique grade offers a balance between flow enhancement and flame resistance, enabling the safe production of fiber-reinforced PA components with excellent electrical insulation and UL94 V-0 flammability performance. It’s particularly suited for parts requiring both mechanical strength and fire safety, such as electrical connectors and high-voltage modules.

Enhanced Processing Window and Lower Carbon Footprint

Beyond improving flow, Brüggemann’s new additives also expand the processing window—making it easier for manufacturers to adjust parameters such as temperature, pressure, and injection speed.

Because the additives reduce viscosity and allow molding at lower injection pressures, manufacturers can:

  • Use smaller molds and presses, reducing capital investment.

  • Shorten cycle times, boosting productivity.

  • Cut energy consumption, lowering operational costs.

  • Reduce their carbon footprint, aligning with sustainability goals.

These improvements are especially valuable for companies in the e-mobility and electrical sectors, where high-volume production meets strict environmental and performance standards.

High-Performance Heat Stabilizers for Extreme Conditions

Brüggemann’s innovation extends to thermal stabilization technology. For components subjected to intense and prolonged heat exposure, the company developed two metal- and halogen-free heat stabilizers:

Bruggolen TP-H2062 and Bruggolen TP-H2217

These stabilizers enable fiber-reinforced PA components to operate at continuous temperatures up to 170°C for 8,000 hours—ideal for electric vehicle components, charging connectors, and sensors.

Unlike conventional stabilizers, these formulations maintain electrical insulation properties (high CTI index) and prevent corrosion on overmolded metal parts. This ensures both safety and reliability in high-voltage environments.

More Choices for Aliphatic Polyamides

Brüggemann also offers Bruggolen TP-H1804 and Bruggolen TP-H1805, designed for aliphatic polyamides.

  • TP-H1804 provides long-term stability for both reinforced and unreinforced polyamides operating between 160°C and 190°C.

  • TP-H1805 delivers superior stabilization for reinforced PA6 and PA6.6, enabling continuous operation at up to 200°C and 230°C, respectively.

These grades ensure reliable performance for applications where thermal endurance and electrical integrity are non-negotiable.

Advancing Sustainability in E-Mobility and Electrical Design

By integrating these advanced additives into fiber-reinforced PA compounds, Brüggemann supports manufacturers striving for sustainability and efficiency.

The benefits include:

  • Reduced material waste due to improved mold filling.

  • Lower energy use through optimized processing.

  • Extended product life, minimizing replacements and downtime.

  • Smaller environmental impact, helping companies meet stricter EU and OEM sustainability standards.

This positions Brüggemann as a trusted innovation partner for industries driving the transition toward electric mobility and lightweight engineering.

Conclusion: Smarter, Stronger, and More Sustainable Materials

Brüggemann’s latest portfolio expansion marks a significant leap forward for manufacturers of fiber-reinforced PA components. Through advanced fluidizing additives and high-temperature stabilizers, the company delivers solutions that simplify processing, enhance product quality, and reduce environmental impact.

By combining chemistry, efficiency, and sustainability, Brüggemann empowers the future of electric mobility and smart manufacturing—one polymer innovation at a time.
