Global plastic packaging and recycling specialist ALPLA Group has officially commissioned two cutting-edge production facilities in Adana and İzmir, solidifying Türkiye’s role as an industrial powerhouse across the Africa, Middle East, and Türkiye (AMET) region.

Representing a combined investment of approximately €30 million, this move marks a substantial surge in the company’s manufacturing capacity and regional footprint. The inauguration ceremonies took place back-to-back, with the Adana facility opening on September 14, 2026, followed immediately by the İzmir site on September 15, 2026.

By strategically positioning the two hubs, ALPLA is directly addressing supply chain resilience, delivery speed, and localized customer support across diverse regional markets.

The İzmir platform spans an impressive 50,000 square meters. It serves primarily as a versatile production engine for the Aegean and western Turkish territories. Equipped to manufacture PET preforms, closures, as well as HDPE and PET bottles, İzmir will cater to fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors including beverages, dairy, food, home care, and personal care.

Meanwhile, the 20,000-square-meter facility in Adana is built to serve the Mediterranean and southeastern corridors of Türkiye. This plant specializes in PET preforms, alongside specialized HDPE and PP packaging solutions tailored for local agricultural, food, and household product manufacturers.  ALPLA Türkiye packaging expansion

Türkiye currently accounts for roughly one-third of ALPLA’s total operational capacity and business activity within the entire AMET region. As regional trade flows evolve, the nation serves as both a production base and a center of engineering competence. Executive leaders highlight that establishing closer physical proximity to packaging clients dramatically reduces lead times, optimizes freight costs, and protects regional consumer markets from global logistics vulnerabilities.

In line with modern circular economy goals, both the İzmir and Adana plants incorporate resource-efficient manufacturing protocols. ALPLA has deployed state-of-the-art automated production lines designed to decrease energy expenditure per unit produced.

Furthermore, the physical facilities feature rooftop photovoltaic solar installations to generate clean on-site energy, alongside integrated rainwater harvesting systems.
