Grodno Azot reduces polyamide production in October by 22.8%
MOSCOW- Grodno Azot (Grodno, Republic of Belarus), including PTC Khimvolokno, in October 2019, the company reduced production by 24% compared to the same period in 2018, the company website says. .

Since the beginning of the year, 92,309.6 tons of products have been produced (compared with January-October 2018, the figure decreased by 8.6%).
The production of fibers and chemical threads in October of this year compared to last year’s similar reporting period decreased by 14.1%, amounting to 3,429 tons.
The increase for January-October 2019 compared to the same period last year amounted to 0.6%, in just ten months of this year 35 715 tons were produced.

Primary polyamide production in October decreased by 22.8%, amounting to 7,433 tons. In January – October, 85 609 tons were produced, a decrease of 7.8% compared with last year. The output of other polyamides in the reporting month increased by 0.5% compared to October 2018 and amounted to 1 201 tons. In Russia, the largest recipient of imported benzene is KuibyshevAzot. Benzene is used as a raw material for the production of caprolactam, which is produced by Grodno Azot and KuibyshevAzot.
Recently, the Naftan company (Novopolotsk, Vitebsk region, Republic of Belarus) concluded a one-time deal with the Russian company KuibyshevAzot for the supply of 2 thousand tons of benzene; regular deliveries are not planned.
As previously reported , Grodno Azot is preparing to implement a large-scale investment project for the construction of a new nitrogen complex worth about USD1.3 billion. The annual ammonia production capacity will be 875 thousand tons, urea – 1 million 225 thousand tons, hydrogen – 200 million cubic meters. . m.
