Pyrum Receives Continental Approval for ThermoTireBlack Production at Expanded Facility

Pyrum Innovations AG has received unlimited delivery approval from tire manufacturer Continental for ThermoTireBlack® produced at the company’s new milling and pelletizing plant in Dillingen/Saar, Germany.

The approval marks another major step in Pyrum’s industrial expansion strategy and confirms that all newly added facilities at the site have now officially entered commissioned supply operations for Continental.

New Plant Moves Into Regular Production

In April 2026, Pyrum transitioned the new milling and pelletizing plant into regular production operations with a processing capacity of 750 kilograms per hour.

As part of the launch phase, the company carried out a short-term capability analysis to evaluate process reliability and product consistency. According to Pyrum, the results demonstrated stable production conditions and reproducible quality standards for ThermoTireBlack®.

The successful analysis formed the basis for Continental’s full supply approval following a comprehensive audit process. Pyrum ThermoTireBlack delivery approval

Continental Highlights Strong Production Performance

Continental reportedly praised the plant’s short-term production performance, particularly the machine’s Ppk values, which are used to measure process capability and consistency in industrial manufacturing.

The audit was conducted to approve ThermoTireBlack® for use in Continental’s tire production processes.

This latest approval follows earlier certifications granted in 2024 for Pyrum’s shredding facility and the TAD2 and TAD3 thermolysis reactors. With the new authorization, Pyrum now holds full supply approval for the entire Dillingen/Saar production site.

Pyrum Targets Higher Production Capacity by Q3 2026

Pyrum expects the milling and pelletizing plant to reach maximum ThermoTireBlack® production capacity after additional optimization measures planned for the third quarter of 2026.

The company believes the facility expansion will significantly increase production volumes while supporting broader industrial applications for recovered raw materials derived from end-of-life tires.

The investment also strengthens Pyrum’s position in the growing market for sustainable industrial materials and tire recycling technologies.

CEO Pascal Klein Calls Approval a Major Milestone

Pascal Klein, CEO of Pyrum Innovations AG, described Continental’s approval as an important achievement for the company.

According to Klein, the certification validates the consistent quality of ThermoTireBlack® while confirming the industrial maturity of Pyrum’s production chain. He added that the approval strengthens the long-term partnership between Pyrum and Continental and creates a foundation for future revenue growth.

Growing Demand for Sustainable Tire Recycling

Pyrum Innovations AG has focused on developing thermolysis technology for recycling end-of-life tires and plastics since 2008.

The company’s process enables the recovery of valuable raw materials with very low emissions. Recovered products include ThermoTireOil (TTO) and ThermoTireBlack (TTB), which are reused in manufacturing applications by companies including Continental, BASF, and Schwalbe.

Pyrum’s first industrial plant in Dillingen/Saar has been operating continuously since 2020. Additional facilities were added during the company’s site expansion completed in 2024.

The company also holds certifications including REACH and ISCC Plus, supporting the quality and sustainability standards of its recycled materials.
