Russia’s GDP grew by 3.1% in May – the Ministry of Economic Development
MOSCOW ( MRC ) – Russia’s GDP growth in May 2017 compared with the same month last year, according to the Ministry of Economic Development, sharply accelerated to 3.1% from 1.7% according to updated data in April (the previous estimate for April was 1.4%), Interfax reported with reference to the ministry’s press service.
According to the estimation of the MEG, for January-May of 2017 the GDP of the Russian Federation grew by 1.3% compared to the same period in 2016.

This is the second quarter of the economic growth in annual terms: in the fourth quarter of last year it grew by 0.3% for the first time after two years of recession.
