Circularix, a leading food-grade recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) manufacturer backed by Macquarie, has entered into a supply agreement with Republic Services, sourcing material from the waste management company’s polymer centers
The collaboration signifies Circularix’s commitment to environmental goals, supporting beverage brands and consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies in fulfilling their sustainability commitments.
Operating a facility inrPET pellets Hatfield, Pennsylvania, with an annual capacity of approximately 55 million pounds of , Circularix is set to open another facility in Ocala, Florida, in the first half of this year. The company, established in 2022 as a joint venture between HPC Industries and Macquarie’s Commodities and Global Markets group, aims to build a total of five U.S. facilities, with a combined annual production capacity exceeding 275 million pounds of rPET resin. Circularix’s leadership team, with prior experience in the rPET sector, includes President and COO Alex Delnik and CEO Leon Farahnik, formerly associated with CarbonLite. The partnership with Republic Services aligns with Circularix’s unique model of purchasing flakes to produce pellets, differentiating it from its predecessor.
Republic Services, expanding its presence in plastics recycling, has opened polymer centers, with plans to spend $300 million on four centers.
