MOSCOW – The spot prices of Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) in the European market fell last week to the lowest level since January 2010, ICIS reported.

LDPE is mainly produced in the domestic market, but in recent weeks some quantities of imported material have been recorded in Europe.

Most of the imports come from low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and linear polyethylene (LDL), shipped from new US facilities, although in recent weeks LDL has not been as well available as expected.

The HDPE spot prices in Europe for shipments at the end of August – September are also below the level of EUR1,000 per tonne at present, and some prices of LDPE remain above the level of EUR1,000 per tonne. Polyethylene Prices European Market

According to the ICIS-MRC Price Review , on the Russian contract market, individual buyers stated a decrease in LDPE prices for August deliveries for some items by almost 3 thousand rubles.  per ton compared to the level of July.

The excess supply of PE on the market remains, but due to the downtime of the two plants, it is no longer so significant. Polyethylene Prices European Market
