Resynergi and Lummus Technology have introduced a modular plastic recycling solution, utilizing pyrolysis technology to transform plastic waste into valuable pyrolysis oil

The Resynergi Modules, now commercially available, are backed by Lummus Technology in terms of supply, service, and warranty.

Headquartered in Rohnert Park, California, Resynergi aims to simplify plastic recycling for material recovery facilities (MRFs) and petrochemical companies. The modules employ Lummus’ Continuous Microwave Assisted Pyrolysis (CMAP) technology, providing a decentralized, cost-efficient approach to recycling. This innovation converts plastic into pyrolysis oil, which can then be refined into circular polymers. rPET Bottle

“The global plastic waste crisis cannot wait for large-scale facilities to become operational,” says Brian Bauer, CEO of Resynergi. “Our commercialized Resynergi Modules mark a critical advancement in achieving a circular economy for plastics. Partnering with Lummus ensures our technology is accessible, profitable, and environmentally safe for municipalities.”

Each Resynergi Module can process up to five tons of plastic waste per day, producing pyrolysis oil that refiners and petrochemical companies can utilize for polymer production. The modular system is designed for rapid deployment, scalability, and space efficiency. With Lummus Digital’s software integration, the modules incorporate data collection, machine learning, and artificial intelligence for enhanced monitoring and optimization. Features such as real-time data access, enterprise-wide optimization, and interactive dashboards enhance operational efficiency and oversight.
