MOSCOW – ExxonMobil intends to invest USD2 billion in the expansion of the petrochemical complex in Baitoun in the US state of Texas, Prime reports with reference to the company.

Exxon plans to build a new division of a polymer production plant with a capacity of 400 thousand tons per year by 2022.

As the head of the company, Darren Woods, said, the expansion of the project will allow Exxon to maximize profits from the growth of hydrocarbon production in the Permian basin in the United States, as well as to meet the growing demand for petrochemical products.

The ExxonMobil plant in Baytown is the largest integrated petrochemical complex in the United States and one of the most technologically advanced in the world.

Earlier it was reported that ExxonMobil was leaked on April 8 at the refinery in Baytown (Baytown, Texas, USA).  The leak occurred at the atmospheric tower refinery capacity of 584 barrels per day.

Exxon Mobil Corporation is the largest American private oil company, one of the largest corporations by market capitalization in the world.  The company produces oil in various regions of the world, including the USA, Canada, the Middle East, Azerbaijan, and others.
