The Alliance to End Plastic Waste has entered a more advanced phase of its circularity strategy. Its 2025 Progress Report marks the first year of Strategy 2030, shifting from isolated projects to integrated waste‑management systems capable of attracting investment and operating at scale. In 2025 the Alliance reports reducing 138,162 tonnes of unmanaged plastic waste and “valorising” 165,317 tonnes, while expanding Country Programs in Brazil, India, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and South Africa. New initiatives include integrated municipal systems, higher‑value recycling markets, flexible‑plastics solutions and support for informal waste pickers. The Alliance also highlights US$641 million in mobilized capital since 2019. The report stresses that durable circularity requires reliable collection, strong markets for recycled materials, inclusive employment and transparent verification of results.
