RadiciGroup at K 2019 with a new high temperature application product: Radilon® NeXTreme

The Group showcases its expanded range of innovative materials focused on performance, safety and sustainability Petrochemical Nylon Resin Renewability

During K 2019, at Hall 6 Stand B10, the RadiciGroup High Performance Polymers Business Area is introducing its newest offering Radilon® NeXTreme, together with other recent solutions that have been developed in response to the increasingly demanding requests from global markets. Radilon® NeXTreme is a polyamide material capable of withstanding long-term exposure to high temperatures. “Radilon® NeXTreme was initially developed for automotive applications, for which it is well suited as it features exceptional heat ageing resistance in air at 230°C,” said Erico Spini, global marketing manager of RadiciGroup High Performance Polymers. “After that, we developed a grade on the same polymer base for extrusion of technical filaments for industrial applications under very severe use conditions.”

Two grades of Radilon® NeXTreme are offered for the automotive sector: 35% glass-fibre reinforced (RV350HHR 3800 BK) and 50% glass-fibre filled (RV500HHR 3800 BK). Typical applications for these materials are air suction system components requiring considerable heat resistance.

“Our third grade, Radilon® NeXTreme HSW 100 NT, for the extrusion of technical monofilament,” Mr. Spini added, “has already been successfully tested both in the extrusion process and in specific applications where high heat resistance is required (professional brushes for industrial use, brushes for metal cleaning as a replacement for natural tampico fibre and professional brushes for hairdressers).”

-Directa Plus working on electrical wires from graphene

UK-based Directa Plus, one of the largest producers and suppliers of graphene-based products for use in consumer and industrial markets worldwide, is now developing a technology to transfer an electrical signal exploiting the electrical conductivity properties of graphene, according to its chief executive officer and founder Giulio Cesareo.

Graphene is a form of carbon consisting of planar sheets which are one atom thick, with the atoms arranged in a honeycomb-shaped lattice.Petrochemical Nylon Resin Renewability

This would open a lot of opportunities in the smart textile domain as being lighter, safer and easier to maintain, graphene is more convenient for metallic wires, he told TechnicalTextile.Net in an interview.

-Exactly Why Are Waste Tyre Recycling Plants Necessary?

Waste Tyre Recycling Plant

Waste tyre recycling, also referred to as rubber recycling, is actually a process that involves recycling old and waste tyres. These tyres are recycled simply because they can no longer be safely used on vehicles on account of extreme damage or damage that should not be repaired. For that reason, waste tyre recycling plant has grown to be increasingly popular to manage this excess waste. Petrochemical Nylon Resin Renewability

Waste tyres present an intriguing challenge due to dimensions of the amount that may be produced. Also, they are challenging because the components that make up the tyres could become an ecological problem.

-Ethylene Prices Down Adjust In Parts Of Asia On Thursday

On Thursday, ethylene prices declined in some parts of Asia.

CFR North East Asia ethylene prices, were assessed down at the USD 730/mt levels, a day on day drop of USD 10/mt.

The price fall, was mainly on account of plentiful product availability and weaker buying sentiments in key markets like China. Bearish downstream PE demand trends, further supported the price drop.Petrochemical Nylon Resin Renewability

CFR South East Asia prices, were assessed steady at the USD 780/mt levels.

-Are U.S. Sanctions Killing Crude?

The biggest market disappointment this week is yet another false start for Saudi Aramco, and we’re not sure how many more the market will tolerate.

Yesterday morning, Riyadh was all set to go ahead with the IPO.

By the end of the day, the plug was pulled once again, with delays set to run into weeks and months as Aramco belatedly decided to further examine vulnerabilities in the wake of the September 14 attack on its facilities.

This will be a further negative mark on MBS’ reputation.

The delay will drag on until Aramco releases its Q3 results, which it’s hoping will give a favorable bump to its valuation.

-Sumitomo Demag: ‘So far, so good’ in challenges of 2019

Sales this year at Sumitomo (SHI) Demag Plastics Machinery GmbH should be 286 million euros, about 9 percent down from 295 million euros in 2018, CEO Gerd Liebig said at the company’s Oct. 17 news conference.

Liebig said that decline is not that bad, given economic uncertainty caused by Brexit, new European regulations for stricter automotive emissions and mandating tethered caps on bottles, and trade wars and tariffs.Petrochemical Nylon Resin Renewability

One reason: Sumitomo Demag had a big backlog going into 2019.

-Plastic recycling gets a boost

The drive for plastic recycling got a boost as the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) and stakeholders in the food industry move to adopt a national policy for the life cycle of pet bottles.

The regulatory agency and the food industry are collaborating to develop a standard for recycled plastic pet bottles to stop the menace of littering the environment with used plastics. The Director-General of SON, Mr Osita Aboloma, made this known at a Technical Committee Meeting on polymer and related products recently in Lagos.

Aboloma said the move was coming on the heels of a recent coordination by the Federal Ministry of Environment to develop a national policy for the life cycle of plastics in the country.Petrochemical Nylon Resin Renewability
