Avantex, the trade show dedicated to high-tech applications in the fashion industry, has launched fashion competition for start-ups in the clothing and textiles sector. Avantex Fashion Pitch competition is open to start-ups with an interest in fashion, textiles and clothing sectors offering innovative projects from the technical and technological aspect. This competition will allow the winner to take part in the February 2018 Avantex trade fair as an exhibitor and will offer the chance to record a video/teaser of their project worth €1200, donated by Wirate, a partner of Avantex-Paris. The competition is open to all initiators of creative projects who fall under one of the four segments: materials & components, clothing & accessories, prototype studio and smart retail.

On August 22, 2017, three projects will be selected from those registered in each of the four different segments that have received at least 30 scores and the best ratings. Avantex will begin from September 18, 2017. On September 19, 2017, the initiators of the 12 chosen projects will have to present their work in the form of a pitch lasting a maximum of two minutes on the occasion of the Avantex Fashion Pitch. The winner will be the person/team obtaining the highest rating and the results will be published at the show in the evening of September 19, 2017. The winner will thus join the company of other outstanding designers of high-technology in the fashion sector.

“Since it was first launched, Avantex has acted as a catalyst for ideas, encouraging healthy competition among the players in the fashion and clothing sectors and generating a wealth of intelligence and technology. Each season we welcome a large number of start-ups, not everyone can join us however much they would like to. We have therefore created this competition so that they can be included in our offer and can meet all the players in the industry,” said Michael Scherpe, president Messe Frankfurt France. (RR)
