China usually imports an average of 1.3 -1.4 million tons of paraxylene per month, with the US material usually accounting for about 1-2% of the total import of paraxylene.

Paraxylene is a raw material for the synthesis of terephthalic acid – a semi-product for the production of polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

According to the ScanMap of the company MRC, in Russia the estimated PET consumption in July of this year increased by 2% compared to the previous year.

During the reporting month, Russian plants produced 52.90 tons of material. The volume of production of PET granulate in July compared to last year increased by 2%.
