Indorama Ventures will complete expansion of TPA and PET production in the USA in 2023

MOSCOW – The Thai company Indorama Ventures Ltd (IVL) has announced that its joint venture for the production of purified terephthalic acid (TPA) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) in Corpus Christi in the United States will be completed in 2023, the company said.

PET manufacturers DAK Americas, IVL, and Eastern New Century (FENC) completed the acquisition of a PET plant from M&G USA Corp through a Corpus Christi Polymers joint venture in December 2018. Indorama Ventures

The Corpus Christi project is an integrated plant for the production of TPA and PET, which is currently expanding, and when the project is completed, its nominal capacity will be 1.1 million tons and 1.3 million tons per year of PET and TFK, respectively.

On the one hand, a sharp increase in the dollar against the ruble puts upward pressure on the value of Russian PET. On the other hand, a decline in Asian quotes has a downward effect; prices dipped last week.
