-Schoeller Introduces Line of Sustainable, Biodegradable Textiles
The firm’s ProEarth fall collection debuted at Première Vision Paris.
Swiss textile solution provider Schoeller launched its new ProEarth collection of sustainable, biodegradable textiles, which is comprised of Bluesign-approved fabrics made of biodegradable polyester. ProEarth is part of its Schoeller FTC line, which is a joint venture with Taiwanese Formosa Taffeta Co.
Its new collection launched this week at Première Vision Paris. The firm added that the collection will also be shown at the Functional Fabric Fair in Portland, Ore., on Oct. 22 to 23.
-Ascend to launch new polyamide at K 2019
Ascend Performance Materials today announced plans to launch several new specialty polyamides at K 2019 to meet the growing needs of its customers. Among the new products are Vydyne XHT, long-chain polyamides and high-temperature polyamides.
Vydyne XHT, a new portfolio of heat-stabilized polyamide (PA) 66 and copolymers, is capable of withstanding prolonged exposure to temperatures up to 230°C.
Using a combination of unique polymer chemistries and a multi-stage heat stabilization technology, XHT products push the boundaries of temperature resistance without sacrificing the processability, durability and mechanical properties PA 66 is known for.

Spot prices of monoethylene glycol (MEG) and polyethylene (PE) have spiked in Asia, following news of the drone attacks on oil facilities in Saudi Arabia over the weekend. These two commodities are the two main chemical exports of the region.

-Krones inaugurates HUF 15 bln plant in Debrecen
German packaging and bottling machine manufacturer Krones on Wednesday inaugurated a HUF 15 billion factory, its first European plant outside Germany, in Hungaryʼs second city of Debrecen, in the east of the country.
