UOP will provide technology licenses, basic engineering, specialty equipment, catalysts and training for the two projects in Indonesia. The biorefinery in Plaju will process 20,000 barrels per day of vegetable oils and fats to produce advanced biofuels such as renewable jet fuel, renewable diesel fuel and green liquefied petroleum gas at the Plaju refinery.

UOP also will revamp the existing refinery at Cilacap to process 6,000 barrels per day of vegetable oils and fats to produce advanced biofuels.

-Recycling isn’t enough – the world’s plastic pollution crisis is only getting worse

Plastic production and consumption has snowballed since large-scale production began in the 1950s. In 2020, an estimated 24 million to 34 million tonnes of plastic waste will enter the world’s lakes, rivers and oceans. That is roughly the weight of 21,000 rail locomotives.

And if trends continue without improvements in the way we manage plastic waste, we could be spewing as much as 90 million tonnes of plastic waste into the world’s waters by 2030. Already, an estimated 10,000 tonnes of plastic waste enter the Great Lakes every year.Petrochemicals CarbonFiber Additives

Besides Lenzing, these ten companies are founding members of the RCI, which also form the Core Advisory Board: Beiersdorf (Germany), Cosun Beet Company (The Netherlands), Covestro (Germany), Henkel (Germany), LanzaTech (USA), NESTE (Finland), SHV Energy (The Netherlands), Stahl (The Netherlands), Unilever (UK) and UPM (Finland).

The Renewable Carbon Initiative (RCI) addresses the core problem of climate change, which is extracting and using additional fossil carbon from the ground. The vision is stated clearly: By 2050, fossil carbon shall be completely substituted by renewable carbon, which is carbon from alternative sources: biomass, direct CO2 utilisation and recycling, Lenzing reports.

-Preliminary views on the nylon market in 2021

Although the pandemic is still raging in many regions around the world, there is no doubt that with the advent and promotion of the vaccine for the new crown pandemic in 2021, the impact on the global economy will be gradually controlled. Under this premise, oil prices will gradually rise with the recovery of the consumer market and gradually be digested crude oil inventories. At present, the central price of crude oil in 2021 is expected to be $50-55 per barrel.Petrochemicals CarbonFiber Additives

In other words, there is a high probability that the central pivot price of crude oil may increase in 2021. Based on this premise, the price platform of the energy and chemicals, including pure benzene and CPL, may be lifted.
