-Nylon fishnet filament and cord fabric tough supports that ignored
The wave of price rising in October was mainly due to the rise of the textile industry, which drove up downstream purchasing power and caused prices to rise. In addition, some naphtha-based steam crackers in South Korea underwent maintenance, leading to lower demand for naphtha. The spread of naphtha to Brent crude oil futures narrowed from the high point of $91.5/mt on Oct 9 to $68/mt as of Oct 27.

Trinseo , a global materials solutions provider and manufacturer of plastics, latex binders and synthetic rubber, has reached definitive agreements with Tyre Recycling Solutions (TRS) on a commercial collaboration and an equity investment in TRS.

The new collaboration agreement will see the two companies collaborate on research and development, pooling their combined technology expertise to help global tire manufacturers develop more sustainable tire formulations. Trinseo and TRS share the long-term goal of developing new value-creating systems for the manufacture of tires that reduce environmental footprint and create a sustainable outlet for end of life tires.

-Spain chem firms increase employment year to date despite fall in output
The Spanish chemicals industry increased employment levels by 2% in January-September, year on year, despite a fall in output of 2.6% in January-August, the country’s trade group FEIQUE said on Tuesday.

-SA to sell 7% of Faurecia outstanding share capital
PSA and FCA have agreed to allow the French automaker to sell 7% of Faurecia’s outstanding share capital prior to the completion of its merger with FCA and will ensure the new Stellantis entity will not acquire control of the supplier.
Both PSA and FCA boards signed cross-border merger terms that will apply to the combination, with the parties expecting the fusion to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2021, subject to the customary conditions set forth in their Combination Agreement. Both boards also agreed to permit Groupe PSA to sell up to around 7% of Faurecia’s outstanding share capital prior to the completion of the merger and to take such other steps (excluding additional disposals of shares) as may be necessary to ensure Stellantis will not acquire control of Faurecia, consistent with the terms of the original Combination Agreement.
This is expected to facilitate the securing of the necessary regulatory approvals in relation to the merger.

Fabrics made from a combination of Sorona with polyester or recycled polyester can be sustainably dyed on an industrial scale with the carbon dioxide (CO₂)-based process, developed and patented by DyeCoo. This process uses no chemicals and no water, thus does not cause any wastewater and requires no wastewater treatment. The CO₂ used for the process is reclaimed from existing industrial processes, recycling 95 percent of it in a closed loop system.
