Premier now offers Linacel in a variety of weaves.

Frankfurt, Germany – One year after debuting its Linacel fabrication for bedding, Premier Fine Linens sees more growth ahead for the sustainable brand.Linacel bedding made of 60% lyocel/40% linens balances the crispness of linen with the softness of eco-friendly lyocel, which also offers moisture-wicking properties. It’s available in a wide range of weaves, textures and designs, encompassing sateen, percale, dobby and jacquard. It’s also available as a blend.

With positive reaction from U.S. and Brazilian markets, Premier sees Linacel poised for additional growth this year. At Heimtextil, it is displaying a large assortment of designs and a complete bed made of Linacel components.“Whoever feels Linacel gets obsessed with its feel and the casual look. It’s already been with few retailers and with few catalogs and is gaining good interest,” said Kumaravel T, vice president of marketing.

Last year was one of expansion on the manufacturing side for Premier, which doubled and automated its dyeing capacity. It also installed enough wind mills to fulfill 100% of its energy requirements and is in the process of getting Greenhouse certification. In addition, 98% of the water Premier uses in its manufacturing plant is recycled.

“Oeko-Tex, GOTS, Supima and BCI [Better Cotton Initiative] are gaining high importance nowadays,” said Kumaravel. “Every retailer wants some newness to the product in terms of special of raw materials and also in terms of special finishes with functionality.”
