According to ITC, imports of PET in 2017 from these countries amounted to Brazil (USD152.5 million), Indonesia (USD44.9 million), Korea (USD127.3 million), Pakistan (USD82.6 million) and Taiwan (USD154 million).

The anti-dumping investigation began in the fall of 2017, when American manufacturers DAK Americas, Indorama Ventures, M & G Polymers and Nan Ya Plastics applied to the US government. Indorama did not apply for PET shipments from Indonesia.

The major US PET manufacturers are Indorama, DAK, Nan Ya and Far Eastern New Century (FENC).

According to ScanPlast Company Market Report, in August compared to July, imports of PET to Russia decreased to 12.48 thousand tons.

At the same time, for the period January-August 2018, the import of PET into the country showed an increase of 10%. 108.20 thousand tons of PET were imported to the Russian market, of which 80.12 thousand tons accounted for the import of material for casting preforms, and 21.47 thousand tons for the manufacture of fibers.

Exports of Russian PET in August amounted to 6.55 thousand tons. In January-August, total exports increased by 86% compared with 2017 and amounted to 57.49 thousand tons.
