PKBR Staff WriterA Vietnam-based manufacturer of container, PET preform and plastic cap, has invested in Sacmi PVS-3 preform inspection machine to boost operations.

The undisclosed customer has purchased Sacmi’s two complete preform inspection solutions in a bid to enable direct, on-line total quality control at high speeds.

Each of the two machines comprise an advanced PVS-3 vision system and automatic centrifuge positioner upstream.

Developed recently by Sacmi’s Automation & Inspection System Division, the PVS-3 inspection units are designed to operate directly on the line and execute all-round inspection of 100% of produced performs.

Sacmi said: “PVS-3 inspection units feature a downstream soft drop system that gently deposits preforms exiting the vision system in the octabin.”

Additionally, the solution is equipped to enable standard preform checks, with inspection of opening, finish, body and underside with high execution speed.

Sacmi said it has also provided the Vietnamese firm with optional system features including the exclusive patented grid method, which is designed to intercept defects that are only detectable using polarized light.

For the customer, the PVS-3 is provided with the latest CVS 3000 v.2 64 bit version, which has been developed entirely by Sacmi to ensure maximum interoperability between machines.

The Vietnamese firm will use the new fully interconnected system to execute total quality control, supply additional information on line efficiency and monitor every stage of production.
